BMR's beginnings...

What started as a lawn and landscaping business, initially founded by Bart, Mason and Ronnie, now stands as one of the DFW Metroplexes most respected pool and patio companies serving the community today.

In 1988, off-duty firemen, Rick Donoghue and Mike Lindley, began building fences, patio covers and wood decks in their own backyards. Friend and BMR cofounder, Mason Thane, roofed the patio covers for a complete project look. The three friends spent years gaining experience in patio construction.

In 1994, Rick decided to design and build his first pool. He swore he would never build another pool again; however, after Mason and a few of Rick's fireman friends saw the pool he had built in his backyard, they too wanted a backyard oasis. It was during this time that the idea of becoming one of the first companies to offer both pools and patios came to light.

While driving through the developing Lantana community, Rick and Mason envisioned each empty lot as potential pool or patio opportunity. Then, in 1999, Rick and Mason formed BMR Pool and Patio LLC, adding Mike as a partner shortly thereafter. Two years later, the first BMR storefront opened its front doors for business. Rick, Mason and Mike took pride in knowing they were one of the first "one stop shop" pool builders, offering both pools and patios for customers.

From 2001-2005, BMR grew to be a household name within the community, expanding from 30 to 400 projects per year. As a result, BMR Pool and Patio outgrew its initial small storefront and staff, and secured a property to call home in 2005 on the Lewisville, Texas grounds, housing 20 staff members.

Rick and Mike wanted to build the business based on core values and principles taken from the fire department:

honesty, integrity, quality, timelessness, guaranteed workmanship and family

In 2015, BMR acquired 1.5 acres in Lake Dallas, Texas for an operations building, called BMR II. It consists of construction offices, warehouse space, a stone yard, and places for all of the tools and equipment.

In 2017, Mike retired, leaving Rick and Mason to carry on the BMR Pool and Patio legacy.

BMR strives to stand apart from other pool builders and contractors by assembling the collective knowledge, experience, and skill to design and create unique and fully integrated backyard oasis', treating every customer like family. We humbly invite you to discover the BMR difference.
